RT HON DAME CHERYL GILLAN MP WELCOMES FURTHER FUNDING TO HELP MITIGATE EFFECTS OF HS2

Today, 4th October 2018, the Rt Hon Dame Cheryl Gillan, MP for Chesham & Amersham, has welcomed further funding for communities and businesses to help mitigate the disruptive effects of the HS2 project.

The HS2 Community & Environment Fund is giving £44,100 to the Lee Parish Council, which will help replace the wooden fort in the children’s playground there.

The HS2 Business and Local Economy Fund is to support Buckinghamshire Business First, with £75,000 for the Visit Buckinghamshire Advisory Service.

“ Local retail and tourism businesses which may be affected by HS2, covering an area up to 5 km away from either side of the route, are being urged to apply for funding and I hope that many of them will do so,” said Dame Cheryl.

“ I also want to urge community organisations to keep thinking about whether they have a project which could benefit from the funding, and to make their applications as this is a continuing source of support which should be drawn on for the benefit of the communities affected,”  said Dame Cheryl.
