Letter of thanks from Rt Hon Cheryl Gillan

Rt Hon Cheryl Gillan MP

House of Commons, LONDON, SW1A 0AA

14 June 2017

May I thank all those constituents who have placed their trust in me and elected me for a seventh time as Member of Parliament for Chesham & Amersham.  This week I have taken the official oath to continue to serve each and every one of my constituents to the very best of my ability.

After 25 years in Parliament,  the privilege of being your MP remains as fresh and profound as it was when I was first elected to represent this wonderful constituency. I said in my leaflets as candidate that I am proud to be known as a champion of the Chilterns, of the people who live here and of our environment.

My commitment is unflinching, to doing whatever I can to improve public services in Buckinghamshire, working alongside our Councillors, our Police, our NHS health workers, education providers and many others.

I would like to also thank the tremendous team from our local Conservative Association and other volunteers who worked alongside me in the campaign. This result reflects the great teamwork and dedication of my supporters.

As well as thanking those constituents who exercised the right to vote, I and the other candidates were particularly grateful to all the officials who worked throughout the election period. Their work ensured that voters could cast their votes in a calm and reassuring atmosphere and that the votes were then counted quickly and efficiently.

Yours sincerely

Cheryl Gillan
