The next European Withdrawal Bill debate will be on Tuesday 29 January but we will have to wait and see what amendments are chosen by the Speaker.
MPs have tabled more than a dozen amendments setting out different ways forward. I have signed the following amendment and, if chosen, will vote for it:
“and requires the Northern Ireland backstop to be replaced with alternative arrangements to avoid a hard border; supports leaving the European Union with a deal and would therefore support the Withdrawal Agreement subject to this change" (Sir Graham Brady)
Thank you to everyone who has given me advice. As I said in my last speech on this subject, I will continue to consider all representations but remain against a second referendum and would prefer to see an agreement passed by Parliament.
